Scavenger Hunt / Game for Zoom
Want to make the most of your Zoom classes? Consider Scavenger Hunt! This free template is perfect for educational purposes 📚
Scavenger hunts allow kids to practice problem-solving in a tangible way. It helps to reinforce and act-out methods they have been taught by parents or teachers in a physical way, leading to increased retention of the lessons. Scavenger hunts are easy to customize to your child's abilities and interests.
Setup:
1) Create a Zoom/Google/etc. meeting and wait until all the players have joined.
2) Explain the rules of the game, but make sure not to leak any items on your flip cards.
3) All players need to turn on their webcams for the host to know which player arrived first.
How to play:
1) Teacher flips the first card and reads out the riddle to students, and this can work in person at home or via Zoom or Google Hangout or whatever you fancy.
2) Once they guess the riddles, they have to go and find that item in the house somewhere.
3) The person who guesses it and gets the item the fastest gets the point, then second, third etc - depending on how many people you have playing.
You can easily replace images and text on these cards with your own in the editor and play this game many times (ex.: Bring something yellow/old/warm to the camera.)
